President's Welcome

Lawn Bowling has been at 19 Sandham Street, Elsternwick, since 1920 and it is a great place to both socialize and

compete. Come and join the fun and enjoy this relaxing and enjoyable sport among friends, with the option of a

 competitive or social atmosphere.

The following is comprehensive information about becoming involved with the club.  If you need more information

use the Contact Us page and we will normally respond within 24 hours. The best advertisement for our club is that

many more bowlers join us from other clubs than leave us to go to other clubs.

Come give bowls a try, you’ll be glad you did.

  Benefits of bowls

Bowls has outstanding health and skills benefits and has an excellent track record of age, gender and physical equality.

Bowls is a sport that has no age, physical or gender barriers. There is always a game of bowls for everyone.

  About the club

The Elsternwick Club is a mid-size bowling club with approximately 100 active bowlers.  The club has a high-standard 8-rink grass green.

Our pennant sides play in very high standard pennant as well as across the range of lower divisions enabling all bowlers to play at their standard.

Being a mid-size Club, new members can quickly get to know all other members. The club has an active social bowls program.

We have nine highly qualified coaches, any of whom can get you started properly and keep you on track as you progress. All coaching is free.

During the season from September to April, we run a coaching class for beginners at 11.00 a.m. every Wednesday, and you can join in our Wednesday mixed social games at 1.00 p.m. as soon as you have had just three or four lessons.

You can also book a lesson on Wednesdays from 5.00.p.m. up to 7.00 p.m., or arrange any time that suits you and a coach by emailing the club.
